Lower Back Pain Exercises

One of the most effective pain management techniques for lower back pain is to perform simple exercises and stretches to relax and strengthen your back muscles.

In this video, a back pain expert demonstrates two exercises you can do at home to reduce pain.  First, begin on your hands and knees and rock your whole body from side to side about 10 times.  Next move back to center and inhale while lifting your neck and arching your back towards the ground.  Exhale, look towards the ground, and round your shoulders and back.  Make sure that you’re breathing deeply to relax the muscles and calm the nervous system.  Remember that everyone’s back pain is unique, so stop if you’re feeling pain during the exercises.
